Looking at lateralization as a dynamic and plastic feature of nervous systems

In the last few decades, research on lateralization has expanded our knowledge about manifestation, development, and mechanisms of this fascinating feature nervous systems. This been possible not only thanks to human studies, but use animal models introduction ground-breaking techniques within field. However, recent studies have also demonstrated how complex phenomenon is highlighted that we still lack a complete understanding brain behavioural asymmetries. Here, I comment two challenges presented by Ocklenburg colleagues face in next future. argue that, order improve lateralization, consider it as dynamic plastic characteristic, which strongly influenced both internal factors, such an animal’s motivation emotional states, external including physical environment social context.
